Thx. I have a 1936 Snyder frame but not the collet. Wondering how does it wedge/secure the post in place. Does the nut somehow expand the threaded tubular part against the collet?

I didn't mean to hijack this thread, but the threaded piece is thicker on the inside at the bottom and has a slight taper on the outside. So, as you tighten the nut, it's pulled it into the collar where it starts compressing on seat post, and also tightens the collar in the frame at the same time. To install this, the threaded piece slides into the bottom of the collar, just enough to start the nut. Then insert it into the frame. insert seat post, and tighten. It grips better than any other post I have...
