In late 1940 shelby Introduced the recessed stimsonite #15 reflector in the rear fender. This was on the straight braced fenders as well as the curved braced fenders. The curved braced fenders in 1941 for the Safe-t-bike had smaller curved braced fender rivet spacing than the previous 1938-1940 curved braced fenders on the big tank Arrow, Airflow and the No Nose. The 1941 fenders, like these ones listed here had a 1 1/4" space on the curved braced rivets center to center. The earlier 1938-1940 fenders had a 1 5/8" center to center space for the curved braces. The recessed reflector was only available in 1940/41. The stimsonite #15 was reintroduced in the chrome rear housing in 1949 like the Donald Duck bikes and was used until 1951.
