My Mercian Vincitore.
I lusted for a Vincitore for years. I was working in a shop in Va. Beach and bought the frameset new in 1982 from 10 Speed Drive (or perhaps Mel Pinto?).
Rode it like a madman on the flatlands of VA, SC and NC, but my spirit was crushed when I moved to these Piedmont hills 15 years ago. I rode it three times (embarrassingly) and parked it.
Lusted next for a fishing kayak so I stripped it and sold it a few years ago. I still think about it and wonder if the new owner loves it, too.
