Look Ma, No Hands!
Its a long story. But basically I bought one of two tandems that came out of the attic at Island Cycle in Minnesota. I believe it was about 1978 or so. I completely disassembled it and found multiple issues including cracks in the back steerer tube and crank, of course the extra bar brazed in, and numerous other issues. I tried but was not able at that time to find anyone who could bend and replace the three downtubes to return the frame to usable condition. Looks to me like bits of it were updated, maybe in the 30s.
I believe it is from about 1897. Steering linkage will have to be fabricated.
It is time it goes to someone who has the initiative to restore it.
I'd prefer to trade for a pre-war mens 23" british 3-speed.
The bike is in Colorado Springs.
Please serious inquiries only. Respond with your phone and I'll ring you.
