'Lil Knee Scuffer
Hi, just cleaning out my basement, anyone need this?
Steel rim 27 x 1-1/4" wheels aren't too highly sought-after these days, but this is a kinda cool one. From the '50s or early '60s maybe?
Dunlop "Special Lightweight" rim, dimpled at the spoke holes (see pics if you don't know what I mean). In great shape, reasonably true, no dents. No visible rust on the outside, some rust on the inside so I know it isn't stainless. (They did make some in stainless, but this must be chrome-plated steel)
BH Racelite hub was pretty swanky BITD, one of the first one-piece alloy hub shells. Solid axle with nice chrome "track nuts" with captive washers. Bearings feel very smooth.
32-spoke, as was the norm for front wheels on English bikes back then. Spokes are light double-butted (swaged).
More pictures here (Flickr album)
Pick up for free in Seattle, or you pay shipping.
Apologies if this is the wrong forum, please let me know. Is it considered "For Sale" if it's free?
