On Training Wheels
Hey y'all 👋.... Brand new to your group and already liking your banter and conversations. So real quick I'm Steve 37 from Michigan and I've always been into antiques I love a good old barn pick and I've started reselling my finds....So recently I found a bike and I knew was old however I very limited knowledge on the subject. Mostly what I've learned from this forum 🤪 and watching American pickers lol. So any information on what I got here would be amazing looking especially for a value. Though the more I read and get into it the more I am finding myself an enthusiast.... thanks everyone.

P.S. apparently most of my photos are too big to post not sure how to fix that so for now just the one here...however I will say the badge says Emblem manufacturing company Angola NY Speedwell and ive yet to check for the serial number as i didnt know its location till now.

Welcome!
It looks like the wheelset is not original as they are 26", 28" wheels would fill out the fenders better. Rideable originals are pretty well non-existent, there are some threads here to help you find modern substitutes/replacements though. The wheels on it look like 40s or 50s from a Murray, the same goes for the handlebars and stem.
I'm loving the seat frame!!!

Welcome young man. If Emblem-made, the serial number is either on the bottom of the Bottom Bracket/Crank Hanger horizontally(side to side).....or possibly on the top running front to back. My guess is 350K to 475K range. Of course it was repainted and we would love some detailed pictures of the chain&seat stay/fender bridges, the serial number itself, the fork crown design, the head badge, the rear axle fork design and the fender profile close ups. If you can do so, we can give you more accurate information. After this, you can decide what to do with it, replace the added parts with more original, or just get it running. Need detailed photos to determine whether the fork or fenders are Emblem or not, they look not to be...

Edit: Over time, so much is replaced and very difficult to determine what has been to begin with. This is half the fun of determining what you have in hand then go from there.

Looks like a H.P. Snyder product (by the bottom bracket joints and front sprocket), perhaps manufactured in Little Falls NY,
and the “Speedwell” badge suggests a Canadian store “Eaton’s” retail offering; (Eaton’s did sell Emblem-built bicycles).

A Snyder bike generally would not originally have an Emblem badge.

Snyder would have another western factory in Michigan City Indiana, perhaps closer to your current location.

I was just going to say, NOT an Emblem crankset, AS is correct, DPH for sure. Perhaps the badge was added later?

The value on this isn’t going to be that great. That frame style, particularly in a 28”, just isn’t that desirable. To me the money in this one is stem, bars, and seat and even at that I’m seeing about $300 or so if you parted the bike.

So I stopped by the house for a min just to check for this mysterious serial number and couldn't find one. However I did just figure out how to upload the pics I took the other day so I'm going to add those but if you want a specific pic lemme know.
