Need some help identifying a bicycle made in West Germany, the owner thinks it might be from the 1950s and the sticker says Standard Bicycles.

the forum had an interesting discussion thread on another example about a dozen year back

the maker of the bicycle is a company called Goebel located in Bielfeld Germany

"FAHRZEUG-FABRIK BIELEFELD"

it even has the lion as a mudguard ornament -

if cycle 1958 or later there will be a letter stamped to the right of the name on the shell of the rear hub

this indicates the year of manufacture

prior to 1958 a different system as employed
