what’s is the difference between the 2? there is a hole in one not the other. I wonder if this would tell the year. Thanks for any info

Oh sorry The short one is broken that’s why is short. The other one is replacement. I’m curious about that

I'm guessing the solid one might be forged and the hollow one might be cast steel ?
