Wore out three sets of tires already!
There is a Victor Overman invoice on ebay with a line item #3 described as "450 sterling balls" Anyone know what this would be?

A quick search reveals sterling bearings being used in special modern applications but I can't imagine sterling finding it's way into an 1890's bicycle application.

The following is a description from Worthpoint for a "Sterling Bell"

"Listing is for Bicycle Bell, thumb lever it is marked N. N. Hill Brass Co. East Hampton Conn. On the back side of the lever is Sterling Bells Patented."

Antique handwriting is not compatible with my antique eye sight.

Nothing to see here folks.
