Finally riding a big boys bike
Hey all!
Long shot considering cost, condition and availability.
Looking for the correct wheelset and springer for a 1970 5 speed stingray.
I'm not looking for show quality here but also not looking to get tetanus. Decent and usable. I can put in the elbow grease if needed.
S-2 5 speed rear and S-7 front.
Also looking for a correct springer, if possible without needing to sell my first born. Condition can be rough but workable.
I appreciate any and all help.
Thx

Only springers used in 1970 were for Krate's which are for a 16" wheel. If you're looking for an original Schwinn springer for a 20" wheel. That would be a 1964/65/66 and you will most likely have to sell your 1st born for that one.
1970 5 speed Sting-Rays didn't use a springer just a regular blade fork.
"IF" you need these parts for a Krate then send me a PM I can help you out. 👍

Thanks for the info. I am not really a stingray guy but it was available. I’m trying to learn myself up on these. Pics for what I’m working with. I couldn’t tell if this was a Krate or just a stingray. Thx

Right now, it's a Sting-Ray with some incorrect parts. Those forks are correct for a Stingray.
If you're looking to make this repainted frame 100% correct or restore it, you may just want to buy another. If you're looking for a rider .... you got one right here.

It came with Krate fenders / Krate chain guard /sprocket could be for either. Frame also could be used for either as well. As for the rest.... sting ray seat and sissybar. Incorrect bars/gooseneck/derailleur/ wheels/ cables etc etc tires and so on.

I really appreciate the insight, sir. I see the yellow paint underneath, wasn't sure if it was a Krate at one point.
With the front fender having the stem on it, would this have had a springer and 16" wheel?
Thx
