Stingray rear rim question

I'm curious as to when the stingray went from the 36 spoke rear wheel to the 28 spoke

To save money. You do not need 36 sprokes on a kids bike. My Bike Friday folder with 20 inch tires has 24 spokes and I have not replaced any since 1995 when I bought it and I am 200 pounds. Roger

I'm just wondering if a early 64 would have had 36 spokes or not
