9:00 am Event opens for general admission
2:00 pm Event closes to consumers, vendor tear-down begins
4:00 pm Venue closes, all vendors must be packed-up and headed home

See you at the SWAP!

Says vender set up 6-9:00. They shut down the big rolling garage door around 8-8:30 forcing venders still bringing in bikes and boxes through main entrance doors past people waiting in line to get in. Several people said something about this and it got a rude response from the guy in charge. Expensive vending spots and not much sold was the word from many venders. Done with that.

Overhead doors are always open until 8:30. We close them 8:30 to warm the venue for the everyone. The consumer line is always outside to allow late vendors to unload. Our vendor spaces are very inexpensive considering we get over 4000 attendees! Last year we drained 3 ATMs, so people are buying. Ask our repeat vendors from the last 28 years why they keep coming back to the biggest SWAP on the East Coast!

If memory serves me the larger vender space cost me around $180 or $250 which is more than any other swap on the east coast and I know there is more overhead costs for being indoor in winter. I did not hear any of the venders say anything about the cold building but I did hear them voice displeasure about the big door being closed so early. Yes there are a lot of people there and between the body heat of 4000 people and the industrial size heaters in the building it would heat up quick in there. The venders and the people come back because it is the only game in town in mid winter. Try having the big door open until 9 and see how few complaints you have from venders. The venders who are just getting there at around 8:30-9:00 and are standing there waiting to pay ( not the general public) which makes for a narrow area for venders still unloading that got there earlier . If you are going to continue to close the big door at 8:30 then allow the venders with wrist bands to come in the smaller side doors which already have staff members at those doors. I got there around 7 and was still unloading after 8:30. I have given you two workable suggestions to fix the problem now it is up to you. Whoever was snapping at people about the door situation was tired of dealing with the door situation so fix it. Most of your staff there are super friendly and doing a great job! Thanks for putting on the swap. Tim

I have been coming to stop swap and save for 13 years. Never had a problem with setup perhaps you need to get there earlier I usually get there right at 6:00 a.m. . I wish they closed the big doors around 7:30 to 8:00 I'm already set up. I also leave the house at 4:00 a.m. in the morning.
