New Mexico Brant
I'm the Wiz, and nobody beats me!
Stunning restored 1937 men’s Huffman Super Streamline, badged National.
There is an old thread documenting the restoration of this bicycle by Ronald Visma from The Netherlands. Everything is original with the except of the following three parts that were manufactured by John Atkinson:
- Mesh chain guard
-Dropstand
-Dropstand clip (un-plated)
The plating was done in a stunning nickel that has a beautiful aged tonality. Ronald was very particular about the paint and had the bicycle painted twice until it was to his satisfaction.
The pedals, saddle, National badge, rear small rare tombstone reflector, and putter stem are all originals. The bike was originally badged Dayton but Ronald preferred the Huffman National badge instead.
The bicycle also includes a correct McCauley rear rack that is partially stripped of paint to be re-plated. It is the correct rack with the book hole straps. I never had it fully restored because I love the bicycle without the clutter of the rear rack.
It has been a rider for me and is an older restoration so there are some minor chips and light scratches. It could use a good detailing and some touch-ups and it would look pristine.
Please feel free to ask questions.
