Nickinator

Riding my '38 Deluxe Bluebird
We'll start the thread today since Nick just picked up a new Schwinn at the local swap today:

1973 Apple Krate. 5 speed. Disc brakes.
Original and looks pretty complete. Has not been cleaned at all, I'm sure you couldn't tell ;)

Will likely see this in the For Sale section soon, you know how Nick loves Schwinns ;)

1941 BFG Streamliner

I picked this up from a SBF member who bought it from an Estate sale in Eastern PA. The daughter of the original owner said her father who was born in 1926 purchased the bike new in 1941. He hung it in his barn where it remained until his recent passing. This is as far as I have got with it. I have the wheels taken apart for refurb. Handle bars and rims are severely rusted. As you can see, the paint is looking AMAZING! This is the bike with the BFG stamped grips and BFG stamped Mesinger saddle I posted earlier. Rare half embossed tank. Horn and fender light look to have never had batteries in them. Thanks to Jim for passing the one on to me.

Nice Nick. Not a muscle bike guy but if I got one, this would be nice choice.

I posted this earlier on Sundays thread but it is Schwinn related.

1948 Whizzer magazine ad from an antique shop...Had to dig for this one.

Can't wait to see this one done. Wonderful job on the paint. Rob.

Streamliner

Thanks guys. Im very excited about this project. Jim derusted and began polishing it out before I got it. I used Mcguires #5 polish with a lot of hand rubbing to avoid taking out the pins. I followed with a glaze coat then finished with Mcguires Techwax polymer. So slick even spit won't stick to it. Can't wait to start putting the wheels back together. Chrome on the hubs is very nice.
