Well since they can't wait till you come on jd56, I'll have to get it started so they quit posting in other week's threads.

I got this 1949 Schwinn 24" that was built on October 22 of that year, by the serial no. F286987, but what model is it? I'm not really a Schwinn guy, as out of 8 bikes I now own, only 1 is a Schwinn.

Cycle truck/New Departure/Elgin Redbird

Picked up the 5 Cycle trucks, I have picked one keeper and will move the other 4. Also picked up a Elgin Redbird tricycle from the same place..Made another two stops and got a New Departure parts box and a 1946 DX project bike

I too am impatient but, I normally give Brooks time to get back from his Sunday searches before I cant wait no more.
Im sure Brooks is just happy the tread is a weekly post and updated each Sunday.

So Brooks, hope all is well with you and yours.

I did manage to pick up a few bikes that I really didnt need.
I being one that hates to part bikes but, given the incomplete ones that need parts that I presently have. You have to do some part bike purchases every now and then.

The 69 Columbia Cruiser was a cheap purchase and was missing the rear wheel, pretty fair shape overall but not worth much. I needed the tank. Probably giving the rear rack to the guy who called me to let me know it was just posted. Thanks Mike.

The same Mike ( I had met him at the Va.Beach swapmeet last week) also showed up at house this afternoon with this 55 Columbia (ser# A141388).
All OG but it too is in rough shape. I can never tell if these are 3 stars or 5 stars. It does have the truss rods and its chainguard has the felt chain oiler.
Maybe that makes it a 5 star....what do say Ken?

Anyway my wifes yellow 55 is missing the truss rods so I took it. Thanks again Mike. But call me before you buy it then show up hoping I'll pay what you paid....lol

Now the wifes and this one seem to be the same bike. Except the one I vot today is what seems or could be the Original paint colors.

Then there is this fender or hood ornament I bought this week.
Not chromed and probably a repop but, I like it

Nothing new but finally got this on the road this week after 21 months of searching for just the right parts & accessories, cleaning, polishing, reassembly, and building the wheels. Started with just the frame, fenders, crank, handlebars, & badge. 1930 Hartford.

These days I do not buy much and am concentrating on downsizing numerous various collections, but the price on this was so cheap I could not pass it up. Mead pathfinder..no seat, rock hard tires as is normal.

Super nice! I'd be too afraid to ride it, it looks so beautiful.
