The 1906 Light Motor Co. Fairy finally arrived from its’ boat trip from the Netherlands. The twin opposing cylinder engine which was refined by Joseph Barter for motorcycle use. It became the forerunner for the thousands that were subsuquently built by Douglas using the Barter patents and then licensed by BMW, and finally Porsche.

This Dayton Motor Bicycle engine also came my way. It has the rare carb with the Dayton script. Smith built these for Davis. It is missing a heap of parts and has the wrong flywheel. If anyone has a magneto, flywheel, or other parts please reach out. I would like to make it a running display model.

That is one nice, cool bike. I love how the rear rack is also the stand. Just a beauty 😍

Not much on the bicycle front, but one in the pipe to be shipped soon. Pretty steady flow of vintage toys. I missed a couple of weeks posting with Xmas, but was entertained with all the gifties and cool scores the group landed.

As much as I dislike and have bashed cell phones in the past for my use/needs ( lack there of) and how some others abuse, hypnotize, and be rude with what can be a lifeline and handy tool, I have enjoyed the camera function, can't do much else with it? Ha! I'll get my kids to provide further training.

My point is, as I admitted, they are handy to take pics and darn good quality too. Here are a few. The literature ( acquired this week) and emblems are the mostly new additions with the toy motors both background and topical. If the Mercs with boxes have been posted, blame my brain. I got this cool book at Xmas too. Note " Whamo Wheelie Bar" shirt on the bald old farmer taking the pic.1765039
