Cruisin' on my Bluebird
I was able to keep most of this set together . Last week I got 5 cars this week 6 more . There were 15 cars total in the collection, said to have been bought at an estate sale in Trumansburg NY . There were a couple I didn’t want , they were from the later style kits with fat mag wheels, wider body and no wooden axels . There was one older style car I didn’t get , it was sold before I discovered the auction .
Most of the cars were not ever raced , I believe they were made just for fun by a pretty good modeler/ hobbiest .
I love these early style cars when they were well executed , not just knock the corners off the block and slap the wheels on. They bring back great memories with my dad and they’re all one of a kind little pieces of folk art
