appears to be a relatively late model 5FC

in the 1960's colour was changed from Raw Siena to this olive drab and wheels were changed from cast iron painted red to these rubber ones - an effort as modernisation

at me last check the missing bits were yet available

Got this ole boy together, had picked it up at Copake, from a good Caber. Took it out yesterday for a test ride & photo op. Rides great, 2spd kickback.

Bought from original owner. It had been hanging in his garage rafters for the last 50 years.

I purchased this prewar Schwinn DX ? yesterday a sale near me. It looks to be original except for some tweaks along the way. Someone sprayed the fender braces and ends with silver, changed out the right pedal running a (hopefully) NF bolt through it, wrong rear reflector and a non Schwinn front wheel. Thats all I found at first glance, if you find more let me know, oh maybe a later chain as I see a later master link with snap clip. The serial # is D89639, '39 or '40 maybe. It has a Kauffman's, Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, Cavalier head badge. On the same trip a 1950 Western Flyer that had a rough life, wheels and tires are toast, the rest of it not too bad if I can bring the paint back to decent condition. Comments are appreciated- good or bad
