Might be a wartime plate,somewhere around my garage I have one for West Virginia.
I know of a Wythville Va. and Whitesvill,W V. there are surely more possibities.

Went to my aunt and uncle’s in Pasadena for thanksgiving and this year my uncle invited me into his garage to “look” around…lol! Grabbed a super cool 40s jet boy scooter that his neighbor gave him before his passing and told him it was his as a child! He was 92!
