I promised to start this post early. I'm late, sorry M.

Let's see what relics you've found from this past week. Whether, it be bike related or not.
Please, include pictures as we do love pictures!

No apologies necessary brother.:)
I have been looking forward to this thread all week.
I now get to ride, stare at, and love this 1934 AIRFLYTE, by Huffman.
I'm more giddy than usual for this one.:D

I saw this one as a frame on wheels at the Hoosier Swap some time back, I know some of you folks saw it because I tried to get a few guys to buy it so I didn’t have to.

Regardless, happy that I couldn’t get it out of my head. I had all the right prerequisite gear to fit this out to the vision I had for it and I think it turned out well.

It’s the same lens as the full size rack I believe ? Being the full size rack they made durring the same time period . I’ve seen the reproduction of the lens on EBay in the past it’s red with a center blue dot

Always wanted on of these large Standard gauge Lionels since I was a kid and I finally got one..

The loco at almost 18” was one of the largest Lionel made at the time. Two motors, 17” long, heavy, and very powerful.

An attached image shows the relative size compared to O and HO gauges.

The cars are 18” and light up when running, operative doors, seats and even inside décor.

When the 4 pieces are coupled the train is almost 6” long.

Set was made between 1922 and 1927 and I was unable to find out the original selling price, but I think the family had to be pretty well off to afford something like this.

Imagine a kid getting these on Christmas morning. Consider that this was a time when not everyone had electricity

The loco supposedly was mechanically restored a number of years ago but the passenger cars are origina and retain a good bit of the ink stamped lettering. Overall the set has a nice patina.
