Cruisin' on my Bluebird
Part Two from last week. Now that spring is finally here, I really want to get the "ole Hoag" on the road. Had to spring for a much more expensive crappy welder for the battery cells. The last one blew a mosfet on the first weld. The instructions said that it could hook up to a car battery, evidently my pickup truck battery was too powerful. New welder works much better, pack almost all together. It may look a little complicated, but when you break it all down, it really isn't. There are plenty of instruction tutorials online. Hope to be on the road this week, it's supposed to be nice here.

Finally riding a big boys bike
I got 3 this week, after along dry spell. 1) Alan Pro aluminum and carbon fibre from Italy. Apparently these are still made the same way. 2) Panasonic DX5000 3) Nishiki international platinum that unfortunately has been painted. The Alan Is a keeper it is my size. The other 2 will find new owners.

That Panasonic has quite the craziest bars and seat set-up I've ever seen!
I don't know what the opposite of a time-trial/triathlon bike is, but that Panasonic is definitely it! Lol!

Cruisin' on my Bluebird
I took delivery of my 1969 Triumph T120R -650 Bonneville motorcycle. It came out of Manhasset, NY to a collector here in Winnipeg in April 2012. Stored indoors here in Wpg. for over 8 years, one short Highway run. Extensive work done and mountains of bills for work done by Classic Cycles Inc. in Orange, CA, in 2006-7 Chatten Cycle in Shadow Hills 2007-11, CA and Moores in Anaheim, CA. in 2007. Mileage reads 4079, but judging from all the work and bills, that can't be accurate.

It's a piece of history and almost time capsule mint restored. Yes, it ran perfect day one for a short ride, then the carbs leaked at the bowls a bit later, getting right on that. Day 2 ( yesterday) plugs fouling, miss firing, seems the ignition key switch is failing, loses spark, and all that follows, but got a short ride in before the problems. Good old Lucas wiring, Prince of Darkness.

The seller is an ace mechanic ( I'm not) so hopefully we'll get it sorted out soon. Spring weather is up and down, lots of gravel on the streets, so missing some riding time ( not here often to end of May) can wait.

I also took delivery of a small Japan repro tin race car ( 1990's I believe) that I have posed beside my ( one of 2) original 1950's Yonezawa Japan race cars.

Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
I bought an Ace badge and a CD with 270 copies of Motorcycle and Bicycle Illustrated magazines from 1908-1922. WOW! Amazing ads and stories. If anyone likes the history of the motorcycle industry, photos of old motorcycles and ads, it's amazing. I stayed up tell 3 am looking at them. I think there are more CD's for sale on ebay. Barry

Nice Trumpet!
I used to be a 6T or T110 type of guy.
Looks to be in great condition, lots of things you can do these days to negate Mr. Lucas' "Prince of Darkness" reputation.
Hope you get it sorted soon.
