Sold Super Rare 1939 (one off?) Schwinn prewar DX bicycle frame Klunker/resto project etc

Not sure how many of these exist or are 'out there'. Here's a B Model graphics (deluxe paint lay out autocycle motorbike etc)
1939 DX frame ..rough paint but graphics are visible and the kicker...No integral drop stand ears on the rear drop out!
An anomaly I haven't encountered until now. No evidence that they were ever there, and somehow a factory build.
Well here she is folks... 39' DX frames appear to be the fashion statement of the day for a variety of builders and
restorers...here's one no other kids on the block will have to brag about. Only you! Frame looks sound other than
the usual patina wear and tear.

a very rare/unusual paint scheme indeed! in the 1930's schwinn had an auction once a year to clear out the odd painted stuff. frames-fenders-forks that were either damaged or were over-stock of a particular color. too many front fenders without a matching rear etc. too many 16" frames. paint blems-damage etc. years ago i remember seeing fenders-beautiful fenders- with no paint underneath coming out of these stashes! all the parts that couldn't be used in production went to this warehouse for a year-end blow out. in the auction the local dealers-the heavy hitters in the area were invited to 'stock up' on these 'surplus' items. these dealers had their own painters and metal workers-maybe some were former schwinn employees. anyway many of these parts were repainted 'to taste' and detecting them from factory near impossible. one name that comes to mind is 'koslo'(sp?) a heavy hitter in the area and known for rebranding/rebuilding many bikes in his shops. perhaps this frame is one of those with this interesting history! if only this frame could talk........
