1898 Schwinn/World?

I keep looking at the chainring, which seems to have a different design than some other pre-1900 Schwinn rings.

I thought the same thing, but the rest of it, sure looks like the 1898 Schwinn design?
Neither the 97 or the 99 had that cumbersome arrangement for tensioning the intermediate chains.
That adjustment method seemed to be unique to the 98 model?
