Finally riding a big boys bike
I picked up this Viscount the other day and trying to figure out how to adjust the seat post. It has a bolt at the top resembling a wedge in a headset. I was able to loosen but afraid to play around and drop something to the bottom of the seat tube that I won’t be able to retrieve!!! I loosened the bolt a few turns, but it didn’t free the post by hand. Is it essentially a wedge that gets banged loose?

Just one word to add to this advice, after you get the lug to release, do not allow the seat post to DROP down the seat tube.

There's a reason that design never became popular.
