New Mexico Brant

Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Any help be appreciated. Any thoughts on how this could have been badged? It has a #5 Davis ring and the unusual Davis two piece crank. The left crank is broken; any spares out there?
Kind thanks,
Brant

I can’t say for sure…but…..I noticed it had a two piece crank. As far as Davis…they seemed to put these cranks on “racers”…also the non skiptooth..leads me to believe it’s a racer model. Your machine could be from a different year…but in 1917 the only racer model was the Thistle speedway.

Thanks for all the great information Glen! It does have pretty lean geometry on the rear; a race makes sense.
