We just picked up what we think is a '38 Colson Marathon ... it has seen better days, someone along the line put a Roadmaster front end, diff. chainguard & repop seat, and lost the rack. Still has the SNAP tank. Was wondering what the value of this might be? I saw one somewhere on the internet with the correct front end, missing the rack, primered and they were asking $1500... I know it's a rare bike, but what do you think it's worth as it sits? There are a few obvious problems - the front end was really, really, really fun to pull apart but is repairable, and the rear left side of the bike is a little favored to the left. Shimmed it straight with the tires on, then slowly tightened it and took the shims out & it's not a bad ride...
So, anyone have any thoughts...?
