The Great Miami Mystery

-
For all who needed answers, I got one today! A fellow caber sent me this photo today so this mystery has been solved

For years this badge ghost reminded me of Slimer from Ghostbusters. Matt's super sleuthing has solved the mystery and the badge is now united with the bicycle. @Barnegatbicycles

Sadly someone, maybe Mr. Bentwoody? ground off the screws instead of using a screw driver. I still need to drill out the old screws but the three holes match perfectly.

I am thrilled, being born in York, the W.P. Swartz badge has special meaning. Research still needs to be done on Swartz but he may have been the first Indian motorcycle dealer in York, County, PA. Besides Miami bicycles I found he also sold Davis Sewing Machine, Yale and Snell bicycles. I am aware of a York (Swartz) oval badge that is on another bicycle.
