Its possible your Hartford is earlier than the 1899 posted here. I have an 1899 Columbia/Hartford/Vedette catalog which is unfortunately shy of details but does feature a rendition cutaway of the bottom bracket but does not show the BB cinch bolt.

Go to Copake sites past sales for Hartford bicycles, there are plenty of Hartfords that feature the cinched bottom bracket and show the pedals as well. At least one is similar to the above photo.

The Columbia/Hartford/Vedettes in the 1899 cat all used the same 3 5/8" combination pedal which is a departure from the rat trap seen above. The above may be Hartford pedals but perhaps earlier.

Ps... take copakes claim to year with a grain of salt. I have seen plenty of eras in the past. If the bicycle is badged, cross check the model number with another source.

A close up view of that 19 in the cabe link does appear to have the BB cinch bolt if you look carefully. Looks like the artist chose not to include it in the 1899 catalog cut away.

Could be an 1899 I suppose!

I would be interested in this frame if you would sell it. I will send a pm as well. Thanks!
