George ... really like this machine.
Appears the chainstays are of the
''oval'' variety ... and are void of
the usual ''doglegs''.

Love to see a fore / aft view of the
underside of this ol' battleship.

If my thoughts about the ovality in
those stays pans out ... and the lack
of ''doglegs'' in the lower-stays is
true ... well, I'm thinkin' this dandy is
a candidate for a massive chainring.

And look at the forwardness of the
bottom of the headtube. That fork
has gotta be canted forward in a way
only Ducati could appreciate ... very
slow steering ... which translates into
(with a big ring / rear cog match) ...
waaay smooth .. non-twitchy steering
at speed.

It takes a lot of trick bicycle technology
to excite me, George ... you know that ...
but this machine appears to ring my bell.

Good luck with the sale, George !!

thanks for your comments the wheelbase on this bicycle is 44 inches mr. hoofhearted. I feel this is one of the earliest motorbike frames. do you identify with the chain wheel

Waaay early, Big Daddy !!

Nothin' special about that chainwheel ... might be Fauber ...
see those li'l bumps between the teeth .... ?

Generally speaking .. racers measure maybe 40-41 inch WB.
But ... a 44-inch WB = very, very slow - non twitchy steering.

The long WB does not make the bicycle slow - c'mon, now - kids.
... that long WB slows the steering. No, you won't feel like your
arms are in a vat o'molasses ... it's just that the steering really
calms down at speed.

A rider could eat a foot-long coney, at a decent clip, encounter
a moderate curve ... and look -- no chili on the white suit.

Peeps won't know how lovely a smooth ride is 'til they actually
experience it on a machine built for that purpose.

Ever hear the term, COUNTER-STEERING ? Think of Superman
wanting to go to the right. He would extend his right hand and
arm forward ... and would go to his right.

Do that on a bicycle .. above 15 MPH ... you know -- extend your
right arm / hand forward on the bar ... you will bear right.

Try it.

But if you are on a machine with slow-steering .. above 15 MPH ....
well, I don't know what to tell ya. Just try it.

Soma-nah-beech ... dropped the mustard ...........

Any chance we will get to see a pic of the underside of those chain-stays ??
