Some of you likely saw this on eBay, stuck Pedal so he wouldn't ship, I picked it up.

Great drab green paint will clean up, some distinct frame characteristics.

The fork crown is reminiscent of a David built crown I've seen illustrated but other than that I'm at a loss.

    Any thoughts ?

    ^^^^^^^^^^ From shoe3 ^^^^^^^^^^^ 1898 Catalog Page Showing the DUKE .......

A Road King was also made by this manufacturer. Anyone have a Badge ?

Am going with Road King ... because of the Chain-Stay technology noted in this green, Jesse McCauley frame.

The Boxed Feature in the 1898 Dropout Plates ... noted by mongeese was a feature of 1898 on the Duke.

This feature may have been eliminated in the 1899 Duke ... OR .... was eliminated as a feature of the Road King of 1898 ... which may have had some Chain-Stay technonogy ......

I do believe shoe3 nailed some DNA -- of siblings, at least ... but what about a parent ?

Good Schtuff ... shoe3 ... that crank-shaft sleeve is included in the factory-
illustration you posted. Am presenting an encore below ...

BTW .... Jesse told me his mystery frame has a wheelbase of 43 - inches.
Couldn't help myself ... had to wheezel that measure in to one of the fotos.

It's an old-pirate thang. Sorta like ''corkin' yer dory'' ... or for land-footers ...
    ''yankin' yer chain''.
