I live for the CABE
Found these photos in one of the Arcadia books Italians of The Bay Area. (There are photos of relatives of people we know here in Alameda).
I can just imagine the window washing crew riding through the streets with the ladder on their shoulder. Right out of a Laurel And Hardy, Harold Loyd or Keystone Cops silent comedy.
And these next three look like real scorchers. The Pierce Cushion Frame head badge on the left is nice and clear. Can't make out the other head badges but the right looks familiar. Notice the Pierce rider and the right hand bike have the handlebars turned backwards, every generation of boys must think they invented that! The caption says the guy on the right has a watch fob with 1915 on it. He probably got it at the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition. A number of bike makers had large displays at the exposition including Pierce. Wonder if any of these bikes are still around??
