This type of pull bell is similar to TOC door and shop bells as well as bells on streetcars. I've seen shop door bells that were made by Kilgore and I imagine Hubley and Arcade who all made cast iron toys and cap guns might have sold bells. More period advertisemtns would be nice to see.

I have a cast bell that seems to be set up for mounting on a wall with a pull chord though it may have been lever activated. The spring mechanism is so strong it has to be mounted to ring it which I've never done. All it would take is a mounting bracket and it could be mounted on a bike the same way as your example. It's similar to this bell but has no maker ID cast into the parts.
