Torrington’s vs Persons Pedals, does it matter?

-
More from Wikipedia:
"In 1914, the main offices of Pope were moved to Westfield, Massachusetts. However, in 1915, the Pope Manufacturing Company filed for bankruptcy. In 1916 Pope was reorganized and renamed The Westfield Manufacturing Company, with catalogs stating they were the “successors to The Pope Manufacturing Company.” In 1933, Westfield Manufacturing became a subsidiary of The Torrington Company of Torrington, Connecticut."

From me:
Columbia/Westfield front hubs may therefore be called "Torrington".

What I have found, in regard to CWC bikes, is that the more deluxe bikes had Torringtons. The lesser, but equipped bikes, had Persons pedals with the small hole in the outer cap, and the bearings can't be removed. And, Torrington Meteor 3's, etc. also had non removable bearings. The Persons and Meteors can be flushed easy enough, and a chainsaw grease gun can be used to put fresh grease in them. The Torringtons are a better pedal.
