I bought this frameset from a caber about a year ago. His thought was that it is a Torrington Eagle. I agree with him that he appears to be correct. It has a large 28T skip front sprocket! Any input would be appreciated!
Perhaps Mr. Dikeman of Torrington worked for the eponymous Conn. company(?); with the connection between Pope/Westfield and Torrington, their use of the double D drive crankset seems to make more sense.
And those pieces tie-wrapped to the seat stay, are not bus tokens, but adapters for the rear forks and axle.
Yes that is an Eagle frame, sprocket and fork crown
Pictures are from my 1890's Crown Racer that I found a few years back.
My frame is 22". But geared the optional 23x8.
Tubes are large at 1 1/4" for a racer but surprisingly light bike.
Waiting for a restoration by me or someone else because the orange paint is horrible
I have a 1902/03 Model 18. It is in quite rough shape. Was sitting behind a shed in the deep grass and brush for many years. Someone tripped over it when cleaning up stuff for an auction. Cool old frame.

very nice find, nice wall art
what does a "take-down frame" construction mean?
I see the large bold close to the seat but how does it work? it there other bolts to remove the rear stay? or is it the BB that splits in 3 parts?
