I am not sure where this post belongs, so if it needs to be in some other place please advise and I will repost.
Recently my wife acquired a ladies Monark bike that I assumed was just yard art. Tires are shot, but it appears to be all there and it is not a complete rust bucket. What I found out after a discussion was that it was a copy of her childhood bike and was a hallowed object. She has "suggested" that I might want to fix it up for her. I have no time, interest or expertise to accomplish that and just letting it sit and deteriorate will come around and bite me where the bicycle seat fits.
I have been selling a collection here and am down to a few last bikes. I have 5 older bikes, a Columbia, Hawthorne, Typhoon, Roadmaster and Collegiate. I also have a Corvette and Typhoon that are probably 60's vintage.
If there is anyone out there that would like to talk about a trade of bike(s) for restoration work. I would be happy to add pictures and have a discussion. I am not looking for a pristine restoration, just enough to make it basically ridable and demonstrate my caring nature
.
Thanks
