Trophee de France is a marque swallowed by Peugeot at some point. Have not as yet learned a specific date. Peugeot acquired a number of French marques both in the interwar period and in the post WWII period. Of course, not nearly so many as done by Raleigh in Britain. Probably best known among them is Terrot.
Here is a Peugeot built Trophee de France bicycle dated by its owner as ca. 1955:
any Peugeot experts who are reading this day will recognise the:
saddle pillar shim
decoration on seat stay cap
fork crown
fitting on lower head lug
double eyelet fork ends
ALGI seat binder
lining
NERVEX nr. 845 pump pegs

following a spot of excavation learned that Trophee de France was an event organised and sponsored by Peugeot and first held in 1911 and 1912. so they owned the name all along. other manufacturers, such as Gitane, have produced bicycles with a Trophee de France model name.
