Troxel Seat questions

Hey Cabers!
What is the difference between these 2 seats. Both are Troxel in and out.

The seat on the right has heavier/stronger springs it seems.

What years would these seat made.
What bikes were these typically on?
Can you soften up the leather?

Troxel made many variations of their seats depending on what the buyer wanted for the bike they would go on and the price the bike seller was willing to pay. Roger

they're not leather, don't know of anything that will make the material softer.
don't think it was all that soft when new, and these didn't have much padding either, often only a thin layer of batting/felt.
