Hi I'm a new member, hope I came to right place. I've been searching for hours for some sort of chart to identify year and/or make/model of a few older classic balloon tires I have here. I know Schwinn's fire caused some issues and that might be one I have but is there somewhere I can go for help on this site?? Here's what I have thus far....

1. Monark Thunderbird - has a Perry B-100 England part so believing it's original of course it's beautiful aqua blue and white woman's fat tire with fenders and matching original seat. I found a serial number OH0012S3 tho the S be a 5?? I'm gonna sell this one, besides needing new white wall tires and tubes this single speed is beautiful it has some rust but not so much and it is a keeper for someone for sure!!!

2. Old Possible Schwinn - the other balloon fat tire bike has been COMPLETELY scraped and horribly repainted. It has one of the super old leather spring seats you'd see on an old motorcycle, and the ONLY info at all I can find is the numbers 3B043021. Help?? Plus I'm thinking of stripping this one down, getting all this old crap paint off to sell but not repainting just priming maybe and leaving it to the new buyer so they can choose colors? Thoughts?

Thank you!

You really need to post pics. Serial numbers on most bicycles tell us very little, if anything. The Monark is likely an early '60s bike and will probably have minimal value. We call fat tire 26 x 2.125. My guess is this bike has 26 x 1.75 tires. I don't think the second bike is a Schwinn--boys? girls? V/r Shawn

Hi gotcha! Here's some pix if I need to do close-ups of anything in particular please lemme know

Thank u so much for helping!! What makes u think that? All I know is I got it from my step dad who said it was his grandfather's and obviously ole gpa loved to sand down and repaint, tho it wasn't his natural talents obviously! Lol! Any idea on years on the bikes? I'm trying to decide what I personally should do to them to sell them. The Hufman for instance, trying to decide if I should strip it and prime it so so done can paint it themselves if they want or whether I even bother. I'm thinking I should buy some newer nice tires for the Monark but as for the Hufman not sure since it's so raw and it'll be sold that way....thanks again for ur help!

Sell them as is. Putting time or money into them won't make them worth any more.

Like Jay81 said these bikes are not worth spending the money on to resell. It would be tough for either of these bikes to see north of $100 and a set of quality tires and tubes is going to be at least $50. Put'em on CL, Letgo, OfferUp, FB, etc... V/r Shawn

The Monark is a 1960, made by Huffy also, and the other is '58 or a few years older with that frame.
