New and trying to learn about the Dayton Twin Flex. In doing some research online, I found a comment that said the first run had problems and alluded that is was unsafe. It said the bike was retooled. Can someone advise what the issue was? How rare are they? What would one expect to pay for a non og paint Twin Flex frame/fork only? Just inviting comments as I would like to learn anything that you may have to offer about this bike through this thread.

I like the bike both fully dressed and as a bare bones bike.

I've owned about 10 of them. They suck to ride.

I rode this one around San Francisco a couple of years ago.

Johns heavy duty springs have made it possible to ride these bikes with confidence.

I've owned about 10 of them. They suck to ride.

I own three of them and all three ride great. It really depends on a few things; how well the bike is adjusted, your weight, and the condition of the springs/hardware. V/r Shawn

Like Scott said--do a search first. First thing is these bikes were built by Huffman--not Dayton. Dayton was merely a brand such as Airflyte, Dixie Flyer, Snell, Firestone, etc... If you really want to learn I suggest buying these:
