Nice sunny day here so I took these out of storage and snapped some pics with my 25 year old Kodak camera. Not as nice as some of the recent J38 bikes listed on here recently, but I like these two bikes. Both bikes are Nov 1965 bikes which I purchased last year here in Northern CA, loaded up in my van and brought here to San Jose, CA. Being later 1965 bikes they have they are not the shorty frames found in the earlier bikes. The nicest of the two has the green lock on the seat post. That bike is pretty much all original. Original paint with no touch up, screens, decal, sissy bar. Tires are Schwinn Made in USA tires, I do not date tires. Real nice original seat and the guard is really nice as well. This bike was part of a 9 bike Stingray collection I purchased from a nice gentleman. The 9 bikes were all great bikes, most being stik shift bikes including an Orange Krate. I told seller the only bike I really wanted for my collection was the Lime 1965 bike and made him an offer on that bike. My first new bike when I was 9 was a Flam Lime 64 Stingray, so I am always attracted toward these Flam Lime bikes when they come up for sale. Seller wanted to sell as a 9 bike lot, so I purchased the lot, just recently sold the last of the other 8 bikes and ended up with the nice Lime bike and some spending money for some more bikes. The other Lime bike I purchased later in the year was also from a nice collector. That bike is not all original. It has original paint, seat has been recovered, also has USA Schwinn tires but most likely replacement tires. Seat strut is a Schwinn stamped replacement type, not a high loop. Both bike have the center stamped rear wheels and ride great. I would consider a Local trade up or down for the lime bike with the recovered seat for a Stingray bike that I would have interest in. I always have people tell me, "just sell the bike for cash and you can buy whatever bike you want". Trouble with that is it has been difficult, especially lately to find nice local bikes. Some people do not want to sell, but may trade a bike they have for something that interests them.
