I live for the CABE
Been sitting on this one for a few years and finally decided to mock it up with parts i had laying around and try to figure out the mfg’r.
No provisions for fenders (front fork has what looks like a wood dowel inside steer tube, possibly added later). 2 Horizontal badge holes. Seems like I’ve seen those chain adjuster tabs before…1005 stamped on BB.

The very last picture hints at Great Western Mfg. of La Porte Indiana, with the Fauber 45mm threaded bottom bracket.

I believe that by about that time GWM was making all Fauber bottom brackets, (previously made by Fauber in Chicago).

Thanks Archie!
I was thinking GWM based on others I’ve seen here, the knockouts in the BB shell specifically. so that is a Fauber crankset? Can we narrow down the year based on the SN? What are your thoughts on fenders?

Another thing that occurred to me is with these offset chain adjuster tabs, the screw lands right on the nut unless there is a thick bushing/washer to take up that space. I’ve made these before but wondering if anyone else notices this or how it’s dealt with ? Am I missing something?

I think the nut was added later for extra security.. once the axle nuts are tight and the adjustment screws are set tight there should be no movement. So those extra nuts are someone else's safety feature
