Unknown Trike 1940's maybe?

Is anyone able to identify this trike's age and/or manufacturer? I know the seat is incorrect.

The rear step plate design and raingutter front fender identify it as a Murray tricycle in their Mercury line. I'm guessing late '40s to early '50s. The original seat would probably have been either a streamline style rubber topped seat or sewn on vinyl top Troxel seat. Hope that helps a little.
