64 Pete

Look Ma, No Hands!
Hi,

I’ve been meaning to post about this bike I found years ago, name badge reads “Velvet de Luxe”.
I haven’t found any info on this bike.
Private label nameplate most likely, I've been told.
Whole thing came to me hand painted over original red or dark red paint.

Notable features include:

undated Morrow/Eclipse rear hub.

Skip tooth chain drive with nice looking front sprocket.

Bolt-on truss rod midplate with 5/16” holes for truss rods but upper plate at stem has 3/8” holes
(I see so many forks with attached plate, but this one mounts to bottom of fork steerer with one bolt)

Metal clad 28” wood rims sized for single tube tires

Number stamped on bottom bracket shell is 1122 or 11220 (but 0 is larger than other numbers)

Rear rack with built in stand

Fenders with flat stays- motobike? not sure what proper name is for this style.

Any ideas?

How about this "1920’s – 1930’s Overland Motorbike"?

Thanks

So then this Overland must be a similar model year?
The truss rods are probably 5/16 solid rods?

Thanks

Pete
Pete what rustjunkie is saying it's a Snyder built bicycle with an Overland badge. There were several different badges that could have been used on your motobike. You need to get a measurement from hole to hole to find out which badge you're looking for.
