Finally riding a big boys bike
There was recent discussion on frame geometries and some talk of Mountain Bike history of the Mt. Tam pioneers.
Alan Bonds was part of that crew and built some “bikes” by refurbishing American prewar frames into these early mountain bikes, called Klunkers.
This is his website that is a treasure trove of information for anyone interested in building an early Klunker.

I think everyone here including Fordmike could all take an extra frame from their stash and build a vintage Klunker.
