Look Ma, No Hands!
Hello all,
Some of my vintage Sturmey Archer gears and parts can be seen on my Flickr site at this link:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/moonm/collections/72157714279868128/

Triggers for the 1940's - 1950's 3 speed fixed wheel ASC hubs are difficult to find, also the quadrant changers for the 1930's 2 speed fixed wheel TF hubs are difficult to find.

As a Covid lockdown project I decided to modify some standard triggers from the period to work with the ASC hubs, this included making 2 styles of new faceplates for the triggers, one without the window and one with the window.

I installed new springs and pawls plus I modified the ratchet to work with the ASC hubs.

I made the TF quadrants using NOS triggers and springs that I had on hand.

Very nice, are you intending to offer them for sale?
Both types are pretty rare back here in the UK too.

If anyone has a bike with a built up ASC or TF hub and needs help with a Trigger or Quadrant, I am willing to help out.
I am not rot really interested in selling the completed levers to folks wanting to resell them on.

Four of the triggers in my photo are original ASC triggers, one is new old stock.
As marked up in the photo below.

The face plate on the second one down in the markup started out life same as the bottom one, over the years the colours wear sometimes the plating wears to expose the material the plate was made from.
Some of the early plates were made from brass.

Another great rider was Ray Booty who used a Sturmey Archer AC hub for his epic 100 mile ride in
3 hours 28 minutes 40 seconds, a record time which held for 34 years.
