Vintage Waverley bicycle family heirloom

Hi there,
I have a Waverley bicycle which has been passed down in the family over the years which is in great need of some repair. I just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about these bicycles as there’s very little information on the internet about them. I think they were brought from the USA to the UK during the war but that’s about as far as I know. Any information would be fantastic. I’ll post photos here if anyone could please help ? Hi,
"Waverley" were one of BSA"s budget brands in the '50s. Nothing to do with the Victorian era USA company of the same name I'm afraid.
If you go on the UK Veteran Cycle Club. Library website, (here's a link to the library below) type Waverley into the search box, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The '57 catalogue is the one you'll need to look at.

Hey many thanks for the prompt reply, that’s fab information thank you so much at least it gives us an idea of the age of the bicycle. Not such a family heirloom after all but it’s nice to have something passed down.
We didn’t expect to find much on it to be honest so you’ve given us a good knowledge thank you.
Can’t see us restoring it however we may get it on eBay and see if it fetches anything at all.

There's more stuff on the early Waverly's from your side of the pond if you check out that link above @bricycle. More than the English Waverly's!
