Waffle pedals, 1960's?

These came on a '50s JC Higgins. Had a olive drab crank and these pedals. They are painted in maybe a semi gloss grey. Run of the mill 1960's or a wartime product?

you could try cleaning the endcap to see if you can make out a marking

there was likely a stamping there when new...

The bright light reflecting off the pedals kills any visual. Run of the mill later waffles though.

No reflectors means pre - '70s (?) look generic, cad plated originally.
