Finally riding a big boys bike
This Shelby has been through the ringer and I think it has earned a retirement. The crank is frozen, the sprocket is bent with broken teeth, the seatpost tube is missing, the frame is rusted through, and the length of the frame has a slight twist in it. The stem is also going nowhere. Gave it a generous coat of BLO. Only steps left are to cut the left-hand side of the handlebars and build some mounting brackets. If anyone has some creative ideas for it let me know. I am thinking about adding a little weathered shelf on the bottom rear seat stay to add some utility. Hoping one of the many local cafes will buy it so that the history can be appreciated...
I havent been able to get the head badge off yet.
