Wanted: 1972 or early 1973 Schwinn Varsity frame & fork.

Schwinn Varsity frame and fork. 22" frame size only.

looking for one in okay shape. paint will be stripped for a new finish so decals and paint don't matter, just not rusty or dented/bent.

Serial numbers on the head tube would have an H or J in the second position.
AH (January 1972), to MH (december 1972)
AJ (January 1973) to JJ (September 1973)

Correct size Schwinn chrome fenders for the 22" Varsity also wanted. Schwinn had different fenders for each frame size as the seat stay bridge is in a different location for each frame size.

Other than the limitations for population up in Iowa that shouldn't be too hard to find. Varsities in that time frame are relatively common and there's little desire especially for the abundance made then.

Regardless, your best and likely quickest to find an old beater Varsity like you want is to make an account in your local Craigs list. With that, you can enable E-mail notifications in each area that you're willing to drive to. Plus, place a wanted ad.
