Cool bike, looks tough with no fenders, shockmaster springer and Elgin Wheelset.

Let us know the serial and we can figure out what year it is.

I like this type of kickstand....

And a Wald "3" stem would be a bit more appropriate.

Thanks for the reply, I thought ahe looked pretty tough too - they was the thought of the build, she came all mismatched and house painted and wanted to get back rolling. Plus I learned how to true the wheels thanks to help from a fellow caber @moleyarms!! here’s the serial #, random 23 stamped below... that’s a bitchen kickstand, just mounts to side of the frame? What’s a wald 3” stem look like??

The kickstand is rear axle mounted...and looks even cooler up.

According to Phil Marshall's CWC chart your D serial would fall between roughly mid 1938 and early 1939.

Here's a Wald 3 stem...Found on many prewar Ohio built bikes esp CWC.

Thanks for the pic of the serial number chart, looks like 38/39 as you said. That kickstand looks cool, when it’s in the up position, does the leg fold for work back? I’ll keep an eye out that stem also...
